Drift 2 Final Video 3

In this video I went down by the lake and found some interesting shots of a drainage pipe.

Drift 2 Final Video 2

In this video I used a series of shots and still imagery in an attempt to disorient the viewer.

Drift 2 Final 1

Description of the Assignment

The films themselves are silent. My drift strategy was to walk from one park to another, intertwining still images from spring break. I did most of my filming at the parks. My drift strategy resulted in a diagonal line.

Drift Strategy

I walked in a diagonal line as best I could from one park to another. My subject matter was one of scape and textures. I felt that this subject matter would be interesting and encapsulate many different visuals. All of my videos end where they began giving the viewer a sense of closure which I felt was imperative considering that we're dealing with the experimental style.

Drift 2 Video 5

I wish I could have made this video slightly longer, however I believe that I achieved an interesting effect. I added the tunnel in this video as well, also adding a extremed low angle of snow melting on a beach.

Drift 2 Video 4

In this video I decided to open on a lens flare and fill the body of this pieces with images of the river and lake Michigan. I then closed on a lens flare to give the viewer a sense of closure.

Drift 2 Video 3

This is one of my favorite videos I achieved an interesting lighting effect, I was able to capture a stunningly beautiful visual of the light reflecting off the surface of the river. It is combined with a tunnel visual, made to appear a journey from one end to the other.

Drift 2 Video 2

I knew that I would eventually be combining sounds and photos along with video, so I began this piece opening with the restringing of a guitar, I then placed shots of the guitar along with photos of a lake sunset.

Drift 2 Video 1

In this film I used still imagery to evoke emotions in the viewer. I used pictures that I had taken on my walk through the park and intertwined them between a video. I used different aperture settings to achieve different effects, such a contrast between the light and dark photographs.
